    To mix copper and salt or aluminum and salt, you need to melt them in the same container, it might work. But that’s the best thing about Science, we don’t know till we try

    The next day when nate poured the molten copper into the steel tray for the copper and salt, the steel on the bottom immediately started glowing orange. It looks awesome

    Well you're mixing a metal and a halide, so it's like oil and water. The differences in density n viscosity at melting point will make one float on top of the other.
