    If I'm not mistaken there has to be kerosene. Diesel don't light like that you could take a torch to diesel and it won't light it usually has to be spritzed mistform. So I'm thinking you're doing all your tests with kerosene which smells like diesel but is not diesel.

    Could'a hit the bowl with the torch to see if that would'a reversed the vacuum effect.....but it was cool that the bowls were stuck together

    Put it under some pressure. Diesel burns much better that way ... That pressure is what fires the diesel engine. Correct?

    Diesel has a higher flashpoint and temperature at which it freely burns. If it's frozen, not only does it require heating to burn, it also won't give off enough evaporated fuel to maintain combustion.
