  • In this video I make a segmented vase from 12 species of wood and each ring separated by a coloured veneer ..
The timbers used - Purple Heart , Oak , Mahogany , Zebrano , Spalted Beech , Ash , elm , Walnut , Tulip , Maple Burr , Wenge , Brazilian Kingwood ..I finished the piece with Osmo wood wax extra thin ..

Great stuff. It's so satisfying to watch something being created from pretty much what looks like a bunch of scrap.

We r making less chaotic versions of this in my shop class right now. I'm doing a walnut and poplar ring bowl rather than a segment bowl though, because that's my fun class and I like to have kind of a free period but still a cool skill to have absolutely love it.

Aaand...my 5 year old nephew has joined me watching these videos, LoLoLoL. He was wondering what did I watch so loud in my garage for the past hour and a half. 😂 Maybe he'll grow up to be a carpenter too someday, who knows...
