Glad our pitching was sharp in this series cause the offense sure wasn't. 11 total runs in the 4-game series. Felt bad for Gausman, who pitched a nice game but got no support at all.

2007 mets worst collapse in baseball history with reyes batting 187 during the last 17 games. made errors and most importantly the team took on his personality and lacked and urgency they lacked focus and preparation which is why they collapsed

Reyes is the rare athlete that infects guys around him his laughing and overall personality doesn't allow guys to have the right mindset to perform at their highest capabilities which is why biggest collapses in history happened with Reyes it's been 2 decades of the same underachieving result.

    Notes from the Game:
    - Julio Teheran delivered another Decent Outing that still leaves a lot to be desired. He Goes 5 2/3 Innings, Giving up Three Runs on Five Hits, Walking Four, and Killing Six Mets. His ERA remains at a high 4.48, However. He's not helping his cause if he's trying to prove to be an Ace for the Braves, because unfortunately, he's not. However, Give Credit where Credit is due, as he hit his First Career Super Missile. At least He Got the Braves Offense Going by Helping Himself.
    - The Braves Bullpen continues to keep the Mets at bay. Despite A.J. Minter suffering his First Blown Save of the Season, he gets the win, While Biddle Shuts the Mets down for good. Five Pitchers combined to get 4 1/3 Innings of Four Hit, One Run Ball, Walking only one and Killing an Additional Six Mets.
    - The Mets Blew a 3-0 Lead, thanks to Oswalt Falling Apart as the Game went on. He Finishes with Six Innings of Eight Hit, Three Run Ball, Walking Nobody, and Striking out Four Braves while Giving up Two Home Runs. Another No Decision from him, and his ERA rises to 5.13.
    - Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis Performed Well Today, as they both Notched Home Runs that Ultimately Decided the Game. Markakis went 4 for 5, while Inciarte went 3 for 4.
    What's Next?
The Mets will remain at their Empty Ballpark of Citi Field as they Welcome the Cincinnati Reds to the Big Apple. Homer Bailey will take the Mound for the Reds, Who seems to be having the same luck as Jacob DeGrom has getting Run Support. Meanwhile, the Mets will send Noah Syndergaard to the Mound, in hopes that his last outing against the Nationals was not a Fluke. First Pitch will be Monday at 7:10 PM EDT on FOX SPORTS OHIO (Reds) and SNY (Mets)
The Braves, However, will have their hands full on Tuesday, as they will finish this Road Trip with another Four Game Set, this time with the Washington Nationals. To add insult to injury, they will have to go through a Day-Night Doubleheader on Tuesday.
For Game 1, The Braves will call upon Young Southpaw Max Fried to take up Battle Stations and pull out a Win. The Nationals will counter with young arm Jefry Rodriguez. Again, I'm not sure what to expect from this one, but it starts at 1:05 PM EDT on FOX SPORTS SOUTHEAST (Braves) and MASN (Nationals).
In Game 2, Sean Newcomb will look to prove that his near No-Hitter against the Dodgers was no joke, as he will take up Battle Stations for the Braves. The Nationals, However, will show No Mercy if Newcomb Falters, as Max Scherzer will start for Washington, who has been gaining a lot of traction lately, and is riding a Three-Game Winning Streak. Expect this Game to be decided by Mistakes of some kind! First Pitch is at 7:05 PM EDT on FOX SPORTS SOUTHEAST (Braves), MASN (Nationals), and MLB Network (Out-Of-Market).
    SoundFX09, Signing Out!

The marlins were such a disaster with Reyes that they got rid of him in the first year of a 5 year contract The bluejays were under 500 with Reyes, but made it to the ALCS the following two years after they got rid of him Reyes was the reason for the historic collapses of 2007 and 2008 hit under 200 during both collapses he made the team lack focus and urgency . Rockies got 16 games worse after Reyes showed up . 2017 mets were supposed to be World Series contenders instead finish 22 games under 500 with Reyes . 2018 mets once again significantly underachieving Jose Reyes is by far the worst thing to ever happen to the Mets he has been destroying teams for decades Reyes is the rare athlete that infects guys around him his laughing and overall personality doesn't allow guys to have the right mindset to perform at their highest capabilities which is why it's been 2 decades of the same underachieving result.

The Mets Made the World Series in 2015 Reyes wasn't in their clubhouse when the Mets had the greatest collapses in history Reyes was in their clubhouse the Jays in the 2 years with Reyes under 500 the 2 years after they went to ALCS. Mets are 40 under 500 since Reyes returned.

Reyes makes guys lose urgency he makes guys lose focus.  He messes up everyone's timing. He makes guys lose their competitive edge which is why After they blue Jays got rid of Reyes they started to win and went to alcs 2 years in a row .
