  • At this year's Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, we may see quad corks in Big Air Snowboarding or in Freestyle Skiing -- and we'll see quad twists and quad jumps in Figure Skating. But have we reached the limit of what's possible? To do a quad, a skater's got less than a second to turn their body four times in the air. WIRED's Robbie Gonzalez set out to find out why five...is almost impossible.

+Paul Harden thanks! I will, and good luck to you on your solo career and have fun with ice dance. I'm on my rocker right now and personally it isn't my favorite 😬

Well according to Yuzuru Hanyu there is an athlete that could possibly jump a quint and that's Boyang Jin. He's even anticipating the day he will see Boyang Jin jump a quint. Despite what science says, Yuzu's belief in Boyang Jin is greater.

Get a bit sick of how American media ignores all the other top skaters that aren’t Nathan Chen

They could have easily used Jason Brown, Shoma Uno, Yuzuru Hanyu, etc, but nope, always Chen.

4:46 Just a friendly warning, don't land on one leg on a trampoline (epecially while spinning too lol) It's instinctual to do that, but on trampoline physics it's dangerous. Some chick at gymnastics told me she blew out her knee doing that.

+Some Guy I'm going to keep posting that you need to get raped. Nothing more. If you, in your professional opinion, diagnose me with a mental disability or a need for therapy, then so be it. It's really up to you.

It's always been recognised as athletic, by anybody who wasn't a total idiot. If it wasn't athletic then skaters wouldn't have the bodies of athletes and those girls and guys are in ridiculous good shape.

Finally, figure skating getting the credit it deserves, so many people think it’s all about the glitter and sequins that’s just the icing on top.
