Hey Everyone! My name is Robert Rush, the guy featured in this video. There's just one thing I want to make clear about my participation here: I could never speak for the entire Black Harvard, let alone Black in general, college experience, but I at least hope to use my experience as an entry point to a greater investment in the experiences of black people and a deeper understanding of our complexity. I only hope to serve as a medium into a deeper interest in the black community at Harvard and not its spokesperson. I'm willing to speak with anyone further about anything featured here or just about myself and particular commitments in general! Have a great rest of y'all days :)

All the wealthy white kids who got into Ivy League schools because of their last name is affirmative action. This young man got into Harvard on his on merit and it infuriates bigots who can't understand the difference between violating civil rights versus personal expectations.

I'd love to see a documentary on the issue of how prestigious universities are discriminating against Asian applicants.

When will people realize that colleges have wholistic application proccesss that examines students for criteria other than test scores? Having a perfect SAT score is not, and should not, be your one way ticket to an IVY league admission. The idea that black students are less deserving of their spots at elite institutions than their asian and white counterparts is absurd. You have no idea what these hypothetical "more deserving" students wrote for their college essays, their extracurricular involvement, or how successfully they were able to communicate their future life goals. Are asians discriminated against in admissions. Studies have revealed that that is likely true. But trying to discredited the accomplishments of black students while trying to advocate for other minority groups is nothing more than the same old tired racist narrative that this country has been pushing for generations - that blacks are less intelligent and less worthy of success. I'm sure any of the black students at Harvard are more extraordinary and more likely to help improve the world than any miserable person in this comment section crying "Affirmative Action!".
